Autumn Photography Season

Following Monday’s article, 5 Reasons to Take Photos in Autumn, over the next few weeks I will be doing a series of articles following up each of the 5 reasons. This will start next week with the use of soft light.

As an introduction to this I’ve decided to show a photo which captures the essence of Autumn. What could be more quintessentially  Autumnal than conkers? As a child I loved collecting, and playing, conkers. So when I saw this photo in my archives it immediately made me smile.

This photo is all about the textures of Autumn, rather than the colours. The crispiness of the fallen leaves and the spiky conker shells immediately brought  to my mind the crunch you get under-foot as you walk under Autumn trees. Despite this, I get a comforting feeling to the photo as the leaves form a bed for the conkers to lie on.

With this weekend promising some good weather, make sure you get out there and capture the spirit of your Autumn.
