Today I would just like to link to the Reuters Best Photos Of The Year 2011 where you will find a slideshow of 100 of the best news stories of 2011.
The photos are from all over the world, and cover the biggest stories of the year in a variety of styles. Sometimes inspiring, at others humorous, but almost always moving, these are well worth the time. Because there’s so many photos, it’s best not to try to view them all in one go as they’ll lose their impact.
On a personal note, seeing images from the tsunami aftermath in Japan was especially difficult given the time I lived there and the many friends I have still living in the country (thankfully no-one I know was directly impacted). However image 64 was equally uplifting, showing the spirit needed to recover from devastation. I’m sure you will find photos just as personal to you.
I’m sure, as the year draws to an end, we will see more of these Best Of… galleries and I will endeavor to share the best of them with you.
